Jen's Journey in Massage Therapy
Jen has been a Massage Therapist since 1999, dedicating her career to troubleshooting complex cases that have shown little progress with other modalities or practitioners. Her extensive experience working alongside multiple disciplines of medicine has provided her with a vast knowledge base and network of referrals, allowing her to create comprehensive and personalized care plans.
Jen’s multidimensional approach is evident in her mastery of various modalities, including Craniosacral Therapy, Intraoral Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Re-Education, Cupping Therapy, Guasha, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and KinesioTaping. However, due to a hand injury, she now focuses exclusively on Intraoral and Craniosacral clients.
A Lifelong Fascination with Anatomy
From an early age, Jen developed a deep fascination with the human body and anatomy. Originally aspiring to a career in Forensic Pathology, she decided to pursue Massage Therapy after high school to financially support her college education. Once licensed as an LMT, Jen discovered her passion for manual therapy and chose to deepen her expertise in the field rather than pursuing further studies at that time.
Evolving Her Practice
In 2010, after struggling with an autoimmune thyroid condition and finding limited relief through traditional healthcare, Jen sought out Craniosacral Therapy. This transformative experience led her to explore fascial modalities and light-touch methods such as Craniosacral Therapy and Structural Integration, shifting her focus after a decade of practicing deep tissue work. This evolution not only shaped her practice but also profoundly impacted her personal life, for which she is deeply grateful.
Looking Ahead
Jen plans to expand her expertise in 2024 by pursuing advanced education in Craniosacral Therapy, including chronic depletion, cranial nerves, and autoimmune issues. She also intends to obtain certification in Breast Massage and participate in another dissection course. Additionally, Jen is considering a postgraduate program to earn her Master’s Degree, though she has yet to select a specific discipline.
Finding Balance
Outside of her professional life, Jen maintains balance through her love of travel. She enjoys exploring historic sites, immersing herself in diverse cultures, and savoring local cuisine. RV adventures with her partner, relaxing with her dogs at her favorite beach, and attending jazz, blues, and classic rock concerts are among her favorite ways to recharge and find inspiration.
